Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using the Chummo platform ("Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you are using Chummo on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. The Service

Chummo is an AI-powered platform that helps organizations facilitate in-person connection among their members — employees, residents, students, or community participants. The platform suggests compatible small groups for low-cost, recurring social activities based on member preferences.

Chummo is a coordination tool. We are not responsible for the conduct of members during in-person meetings arranged through the platform.

3. Accounts

• You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• You may not share your account with others or create accounts on behalf of others without their consent.
• You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Chummo to:

• Harass, threaten, or harm any other member
• Misrepresent your identity or affiliation
• Collect or store other members' personal data beyond what the platform provides
• Attempt to circumvent the platform to contact members outside of accepted group suggestions without their consent
• Use the service for commercial solicitation or spam
• Reverse engineer, scrape, or abuse the platform's systems
• Violate any applicable law or regulation

5. Organization Administrators

If you subscribe to Chummo on behalf of an organization, you are responsible for:

• Ensuring your members are informed about how Chummo works before being invited
• Configuring the platform in a manner appropriate for your community
• Compliance with applicable employment, housing, or educational laws regarding member data
• Promptly notifying us of any safety concerns involving members

6. Subscription and Billing

• Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually in advance.
• You may cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds are issued for unused time.
• We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice. Price changes will not affect your current billing period.
• Free trials, if offered, convert to paid subscriptions at the end of the trial unless cancelled.

7. Intellectual Property

The Chummo platform, including its AI matching systems, design, and software, is owned by Chummo and protected by intellectual property law. You retain ownership of any content you submit (preference answers, feedback responses). By submitting content, you grant us a limited license to use it solely to provide the Service.

8. Limitation of Liability

Chummo is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service, including any in-person interactions between members. The Service is provided "as is." Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amounts you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without notice depending on severity. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us or using account settings. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes, we will provide at least 14 days' notice by email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Disputes shall be resolved by binding arbitration, except where prohibited by law.
